I took inspiration of their costumes from both the original run and the Ultimate retelling. Reed and Thing were quite difficult to draw because I couldn't figure out a good pose for them at the time. Aside from Sue's hair, the Storms were a walk in the park. What I did for Ben was turn his rocky exterior into some kind of a defense mechanism. Sort of like how Bruce Banner transforms into Hulk when his anger is triggered, or how Peter Parker's spider-senses tingle when danger's afoot.
