Description Ladislaus of Habsburg, King of Bohemia, King of Hungary and Duke of Austria, the only male grandson of emperor Sigismund of Luxembourg, thus the sole heir of his inheritance. Hope was short lived as he died merely 17 years old at Prague in 1457, little before his wedding. Long thought to be poisoned the King in fact died from leukemia, not known as an illness back then.

A simple, clean, lineart.

Ps: I think the Habsburg jaw was indeed around then, because Laidslaus boasts such a prominent chin on his most-well-known portrait.

They are mostly unkown; Otto the Merry, Albretch the Wise, Albretch the Magnanimous, and aren't usually covered by essays or books. Glad you liked it. I've seen your Austrian rulers portraits, keep improving your artworks and style, its heartening to see someone portraying historical characters.

I do like it very much and I agree, there should be more about medieval Austria...

And I am very glad you liked my Babenberger Series so far - thank you very much!

There should be more about Medieval Europe in general. Historical art is very neglected by the community.

Nothing to thank me for. Keep training, drawing and portraying historical characters.

When did they do the autopsy?

I find it odd that many people believe that cancer is a recent disease, when it has existed (and killed people) for a long time.

I believe it was in the 80's.

Yes, many have died from cancer in History, however as it wasn't identified many death were unclear. As you say many people believe it is a modern disease.

Is there a video of the autopsy?

I mean, they have found cancer in Egyptian mummies. And dinosaurs also had the disease, millions of years ago.

I don't think there is such a video. However there might be an inform of the autopsy if you search well.

If the Habsburg family left no other legacy, it gave us enduring proofs that incest is a game the whole family can play!

Once again Master Oznerol, please accept my compliments upon a most excellent portrait image.

Well, members of the Habsburg family are still out there (no wonder xD)

My compliments Oznerol.

Yes, and the current heir is a racer, I think.

Glad you liked it, Lamastok.

Hahaha! Indeed my dear Libra, indeed.

I accept those compliments but in exchange I demand one thing:

Suggestions. Who shall I portrait next? ASoIaF or History. Preferably ASoIaF, a long time since I portrayed a Martin's character.

Oooh, now there's a question; I recall that you've drawn a Bittersteel armoured cap-a-pied, but I would definitely be interested in seeing your rendition of him without the helm - now I think of if, what WOULD this bad-tempered mercenary captain wear away from battle?

I'd have to think for a wee while before I came up with any more suggestions, but again Aegon IV strikes me as the most charismatic Targaryen King whom you have yet to draw up!

Whomsoever you elect to draw Master Oznerol, I am sure that your rendition of them will be more than excellent enough to win our admiration all over again!

Hum, hum!
Bittersteel is sometimes lurking at the deepest places of my head, scratching it: "portray me! portray me!" He is a favored secondary character of mine; his last epic charge, his staunch loyalty, his grudge with Bloodraven, his on-going fight for the Blackfyres... He is epic, and very well deserves a portrait of his own. Of course he would get a classic XIV century hair style and attire. But I imagine something very austere while militaristic, maybe a leather doublet with iron circles sewn into the fabric.

Aegon is a other long-time wish of mine...

Let's see who I end drawing...

Fair enough - after all your next portrait might end up not featuring either of them and yet still be EVEN better!

One idea for a picture that occurred to me either last night or earlier today was a portrait of the various mistresses of Aegon IV, specifically focussing on the two who between them gave the king two sons and by virtue of having birthed those sons, then set them at one another's throats set the Realm on the road to War.

I have to admit to deep suspicions that The Blackfyre Rising was even more due to the Brotherly enmity between Ser Aegor 'Bittersteel' Rivers and Brynden 'Bloodraven' Rivers than it was to a conflict of personalities between their more kingly half-brothers … (consider for instance the fact that the conflict failed to perish with the men in whose name it was nominally fought; not conclusive proof but not a bad indicator that while King Daeron and Ser Daemon steered the conflict, it was Bloodraven and Bittersteel that kept driving it forward).
