Humm.....I've seen the three winners and I kinda of guess why theirs win the contest instead of this one, I love your illustration and there's no doubt about that, but when I see this piece and see that it didn't even make it into the top three finalist is understandable. I mean what kind of car company would want to see their cars and other people thrown out of the back of a IAF C-17(World's Biggest Military Transport plane) Super Hercules C-17 Globemaster and use their cars as weapons of mass destruction/bombs on a heavy populate area. That's just not what a reputation that a car company would want to have, some times thinking too much out of the box will determine if you will win this kind contest or not, some times you just have to try to see things from their point of views in order to win, but none the less you did a great job here, I hope you're not mad at me for giving you some useful pointers.

This is one of the ones that stood out to me as a sure winner. I can't believe you didn't make it! It's whimsical, fun, well-stylized, and a lot of research was put into Fiat in the making of it. Seeing that something can be this good and still not get picked makes it hurt a little less that I didn't win either. Best of luck in future contests!

Aw why thank you for the comment. ^_^
I feel the judges did the best they could. There were many amazing entries but in the end only 25 could be selected.
Thank you and best of luck in future contests as well! Maybe we will see each other again. ^_^

If I didn't have sucha a troublesome car, I would steal this from you and put it on there. Straight up steal.
Great design from you as always. I didn't really read up on the contest since i could never win, but I hope you do well.

hehe yea I must admit this contest was pretty tricky because the template was 82 inches wide! by the time I was done my file was 1.9 gigs O_O"
Thank you I almost did not make it in time ^_^.

82 inches???? I knew it was a big file, but... wow O_o I didn't realize it was that big.

hehe yea I was pretty surprised. The temp with the car is manageable its the other template that was very large. That said one could simply separate each window into stand alone files and work with them (now I think of it should have done that......I am not very bright >_>")
Well actually I wanted mine to be a complete uninterrupted piece ^_^

I didn't think about separating the windows either, so that makes two of us it didn't occur to... ^_^;
I checked my file size for the window template and it's something like 17 MB... but then again, it's a .jpg and not an .ai. What type of file is yours?

I used the jpg. But because I use many layers the file size went up. If one keeps the layers under control its actually not too bad to work with.

Who told them that that was a good idea?! I mean, I'm sure that a lot of the people who wanted to couldn't participate if they tried based on the system strain.

hehe yea I wondered about that. That said one can divide it up into separate files and work on them as stand alone pieces. Then put them together at the end ^_^

I just pity the poor guy who has to download them all to look at them. At least, I hope that's how they're doing it.

haha yea but this is because I draw in heavy detail and make use of lots of layers (450 layers for this piece) in order to increase flexibility and editing options. I also have a pretty strong machine so its not much of a problem ^_^
Thank you for commenting, Your design is pretty sweet! I like anything dealing with Japanese culture best of luck in the contest!

my laptop would freeze, if ever i had a 100 layers (though, i wouldn't need that much, cuz i know i'll get lost with only 10 layers) your hard work should be payed off. if not placed, at least one of the semi's

Thank you very much. Your design is awesome. I really like the details and how it relates to the venue of Miami (I kinda wish I had though of that >_>)
Best of luck in the contest my friend!! ^_^

The template itself is unaltered I have not stretched or skewed it (which is what I think they are really keen on). I added a larger version of the design because its details are better seen in a larger format. I hope this is correct I certainly could be wrong ^_^"
But thank you for commenting I appreciate it. And best of luck in the contest too! ^_^
