Description sens aquatique. cΓ΄te sauvage. france. early november 004.

Each and every day
colours in waves
love and nights cause sparks
tearing us apart

I need summer.
therefore another shot from the bretagne series, though it was november
or do I need a serious winter?

water can be beautiful...

(colours slightly changed. increased saturation and contrast

The composition is really interesting.
That's a large space for the sea and it is not wasted.
It can be so furious.
Especially in Bretagne where the landscapes can stop at any moment to let the sea continue.

The colors are very strong.
This saturation is ok, it adds a summer-look to a november shot in Bretagne after all (even in summer, it is not that way)

Maybe you could have had the upper wave coming a little lower, so as not to be right beside the border.
But this is already really nice.

Water can be beautiful indeed, I have recently found back a series of old shots taken in England.
I found one of the shore that evoques the end of all.
Almost like a dead end, and whoever tries to come closer will be helplessly taken away.
A bit like what bowlingforrainbows said.
I don't know whether I will post it or not, since it has not the color quality yours has, and it is more a personnal vision than a deviation everyone can get.

Anyway, I really like your Bretagne session.

I completely agree with your opinion. it does not look like a shot taken in november. and jap, too bad about the only slight capture of the wave.

you go dude, really hope you will submit some of your england shots.
the bretagne session is what marked my breakthrough at dA. of course I always feel proud and happy the more people view my works, but it's not that essential to me. more essential are comments like yours. nevertheless I am absolutely pleased that many were attracted by this incoherent series.

I have to visit the bretage again. It's such a inspiring, healthy and poetic place to be.

The colour is just stunning.
This image is absolutely gorgeous, the ocean has such an enchanting quality ... and deadly one. The colours are so inviting and make me just want to step into the image and plunge into the water but the whiteness of the surf suggests the real power and strength in those waves crashing onto the beach.

I was going to leave a really long comment but i see the time and i have to go..
i 1st need to say that the colours are just truelly fantastic, i love the contrast of the white rapids againts the beautiful pale colour of the sea. its ttruelly nice, the crop is spot on, really get to see alot of the sea, in a way you can see the horazion which i think works perfectly.. beautifuly done stepah

Very, very impressive
The editing has only improved this photograph, particulary the colour of the ocean. It's all so clear, I can even see where the water suddenly drops into a deep ditch of water. Not a safe place for swimming!
There is such a struggle going on within the water, as shown by the white foam - it reminds me of when a dog fights and froth forms around their mouth. The struggle seems to be between the waves coming in towards the beach (one of which you caught in motion), and the water trying to leave the beach (which you also captured). There is so much motion in this shot, and a feeling of emmense power and this is perfect to descripe what the ocean is really like.
You could give this to somebody who has never seen the ocean before and they would gain alot of understanding from it.

Stunning colors, it adds a lot to the piece.
The water's lovely, but it just gives the whole package an empty feeling. Maybe you could've given the scene a bit more balance when you cropped it. [shrug]
Then again, the wonderful work with the colors kind of sways me the other direction.
There, that was my pathetic attempt at critique.

ah, thanks for the deep insight. I appreciate critique very much, often even more than a simple "great shot"... I feel likewise 'bout this shot. I don't know what it is, but I somehow wanted to show the 'emptiness' of the sea. the colours symbolize the attraction of the sea, seducing you in some kinda way. but then the sea rolls back and takes you with it. of course I had the flood catastrophe in my mind when I worked on that shot... damn the poor ppl had to die.
