I'm confused on how this is gonna work. I saw man of steel and that movie was so over the top. I mean when superman punches someone they go through 15 buildings. What's gonna happen when he punches batman? Cause you know we gotta have a batman superman showdown in the film.

Well it's over the top because its a comic book movie sir. It's not a documentary. And Nolan and his Batman have nothing to do with Superman and Man OF Steel.
The New Batman will be more like the comic book Batman or in other words,the worlds best fighter,the worlds best detective,one of the worlds smartest people rather than the Bale Batman.

Batman and Superman were suspicious of each other at first but came to respect each other and later founded the Justice League. It's gonna be fine. It will work.

Batman never beat Superman, the second Green Arrow got involved any and all credibility the fight had was lost (referring to the Dark Knight Returns quote).

Also,Superman was only at like 50% strength. Remember,before the fight the sun's rays had been blocked out during the Nuclear winter. Superman lost strength and was still recovering.
Also,Superman not wanting to kill Batman held back in the fight and tried talking to Bruce.
At the end of the fight,only one guy was still conscious and that was Superman.
Just sayin' but I love Bats too.

Anyway,Batman is too smart to just fight Superman. Batman has trouble fighting guys like Bane so how would he fight Superman?
If Superman fought Batman 100 times,Batman would lose 99 times.
Batman and Superman are smart people. They dont solve every disagreement they have by fighting. Bat fan boys always say "oh Batman just has to get some Kryptonite..."
Again this shows ignorance. #1 Superman doesn't immediately faint around Kyrptonite and has often fought through the pain it causes.
#2 Kryptonite is very very hard to get and it's not like it can just be purchased at Home Depot or K mart!
Frank Miller's Batman knew that fighting Superman even while Superman was weak would be a suicide mission and in many ways it was.

there is also a #3 option,
#3 Superman gets less and less affected by Kryptonite over time, before DC went and rebooted everything, the mainstream Superman had gotten to a point where he could survive Kryptonite powered weapons.
In Prelude to War Of The Supermen, Superman is chasing a rouge Kryptonian and the US army shoot at both with this Kryptonite cloud thing, when the dust settles Superman is still standing tall while the other guy is in his arms....dead....and they both took the hit.
The Dark Knight Returns if based in that timeline would have happened around 10-15 years after that event meaning that Superman would pretty much be immune to Kryptonite all together lol
and that was my geek out moment of the day

I tend to have geek moments a few times a day, but I do it in front of my friends....who have no clue what I'm talking about 90% of the time, so I try to tone it down lol.
And yep, Batman.....should...know better not to fight Superman, even in a weakened state, cause Bat's will still lose....majority of the time.

Well Superman is the stronger hero,the leader of the justice league etc
He's also the first superhero in comic books as well as the first hero in this new DC movie franchise.
