Nick has no definition of his own character...and so is judy....its not much of his past that defines or his future

I think they do have some definition though. Nick wants to do what is right, but was put down by society for so long that he felt he shouldn't until Judy came along and re-ignited his dreams. Now, with Judy as his partner, he can realize his dreams of being more than just a fox. 
Judy's definition is her empathy and want to make the world a better place. So she'll help others and break stereotypes, helping others to do the same along the way.
I'd also imagine both would be rather protective of the other, so no females flirting with Nick while Judy is around, and the same with Nick, no males flirting with Judy while he is around.
