Kawazoe Rie (川添里絵), literally "riverside village painting", is a type of Tsukumogami, a youkai produced from an object inhabited by one of many gods.

Rie was an Asian-kind ink brush, owned by an elderly artist whose specialty's on sumi (ink wash painting) and calligraphy. Due to the artist's retirement from old age, and ink painting had become nearly obsolete because of advancing technologies, these all ultimately leading to her long un-usage.

Given that Rie's a type of artists' brush, naturally her abilities revolves around art-alikes, mostly calligraphy-wise, thus, "manipulation of calligraphy".
She is able to create calligraphy with the brush she carries, able to write on any surfaces and even in the air, as such, this ability could be combined with spellcards to be useable for danmaku purposes. However, the structures are only temporary, and the ink would naturally fade away after a few minutes, work would only truly stay if they are written on sheets of papers.

Personality-wise, Rie can easily becomes anxious due to her low self-esteem, never looking up to her own drawings and so she hasn't been confident enough to draw on papers. She also has troubles speaking, therefore has to rely on her ability to express her thoughts through writings. With the above facts considered, undoubtedly she is very shy towards anyone, either youkais or humans, and would avoid contacts as much she could.

Rie usually wanders around riverbanks, mainly due to the habits of her owner, often being used for paintings of rivers before she became a youkai. The Sanzu River marks the place she most often resides in, since there are not usually many people other than the dead visit there. Because of that, most people are not aware of Rie's presence, with the only exception of that being Komachi, whose main occupation revolves around the river already.

A little fact with this character, the concepts for her were thought of back around 3 years ago, though I never have gotten motivated enough to write down a description for her. The only things noted down regarding the character are her name, and a small concept appearance made with the Walfas program.

One major trait I remember is that she was going to be entirely expressionless, but an actual Touhou of that sort (Kokoro) had been created later, so I have to change that up a bit to avoid the two being too similar.

Now, just have to finish up the bio for that other OC...
