Just really wanted to practice coloring and some ideas about line weight, character design, that sort of thing.Related content

YEAH! for once the female is all covered and the male is open on the front. I like fantasy art, but the standard is the other way around and it makes little sense.

yes i know, but for some reasons a lot of artists still go for the improbable armor bikini, so it's refreshing to see something normal.

looks pretty good. You colors are looking a lot more vibrant and alive. You're still not pushing those shadows and highlights quite far enough, I think, but you're making rapid progress. Consider this: shadows are not just deeper values of the base colors. Try creating them with grays, blues, greens or purples. Your character design is excellent, though.

I've been trying to work colors from elsewhere in the image into the shadows but if it's not showing up, I'm going too light on it. Working heavier will be the next thing I'll try, thanks!

I like. Simple and evocative. A few of the features seem exaggerated (calves of the spearwoman, the sharpness of the angles of the face) but for something like this, it's excellent. I really like the armour on the spearwoman and they way you used leaf-shapes that still look like pieces of functional armour. You could probably have continued that in the spearhead to good effect.
