My favourite part is without doubt the unblurred lock of hair on the right side of her face and the eye beside it. The detail is great, I could count the single hairs if I wanted! ;] What irritates me slightly is the left part of her face, though, because the eyes seems to be higher than the right one, although the head is not tilted to the side. I also think I would have cut some of the left part of the picture, because the white irritates me; I can't look straight on the face, because it's not in the middle, although it is the only thing on the canvas and Christina Ricci is staring back at me in return.
ANd now I'll go and read through your eye tutorial, because I love how you did them

Overall I'd say, 12 hours well spent!

(Maybe linking to the reference you used would be great? It makes it easier to see where the differences are )

Thanks,I guess a common mistake is to assume faces are perfectly symmetrical. I personally think that little imperfections and quirks add authenticity and make for a more interesting piece, the extreme of this I guess is caricatures.

Lovely. Nice contrast between hard and soft, so it's got depth and draws attention to the eyes. I'm wondering what the ref is, cos the eyebrows are the only things that look drawn, while everything else is so photo realistic.

Ha, she has her eyebrows drawn in. It must have been tricky. I like your off-centre composition, it's more dynamic.

I like doing hair myself. I usually draw it very fast, and then fill it in, section by section, usually fast, too.
