This poster delineates what literacy is. It is not spoken English as such and is important in maintaining the way civilisation works. Most people can talk, unless they have speech problems or are voluntary mute but writing requires concentration as does reading and spoken words don't in the same way (songs and poetry rely on less syllables rather than more, while academic and technical papers, plus general theory requires the opposite as they have difficult ideas to explain).
