Of course, the dub completely destroyed a rather ironic point of the first movie: that both Mewtwo and Mew were wrong and learnt from the experience (protip: what they learn is NOT 'Training is totally A-OK!')... namely, in the original version, Mew dismissed Mewtwo as another clone (which is the original reason why he go ballistic and chuck energy spheres at her).
Of course, as rocky as their meeting might have went, they remain quite the... strange duo. And in fact... well, one may notice that their relationship is too close to be mere friends but too equal, too weird to be mother/son...
But ha well. Random theorizing and all.
