The M.B.G recognizes the versitlite role a shotgun can provide in the field of operations. Therefore, a more versatile shotgun can provide more use in a operation that changes on moments notice. With. the Sega 7, a agent has the range of close quarters and medium range, to long range combat with a flip of the butt stock and a few choice shells. The butt stock folds onto the top of the gun for closers combat, or folds out and extends for more ranged combat. The Sega also has the common 12 gauge barrel and acceptor feed, allow the shotgun to uses all variations of the 12 gauge shell, ranging from buck shot, soild slug, non lethal bag, multi dart, hi vlocity slug, and concussion rounds, just to name a few. The shotgun also features a pump lock for added safety, and prevent any who have no training, unable to operate the weapon. As with all M.B.G weapons, the highest quality and rigorous testing ensures the weapon full operation with little needed maintenance, and long lasting use.

In my head cannon after mata nui restored Spherus Magna, they needed guns to conserve kanohi disks, due to the protodermis only existing in the matoran universe.

Of course, lego would never approve guns, since it's against their policy.I think however, they are flexible with that policy more than other....

Originally there were none,lego didn't want guns in their sets, for fear of promoting violence. As time passed on,lego gained licensed property on movies and such for sets, they were sort of forced into it.
So bionicle was during the last days when they didn't want guns in their original sets, but slowly changed as time progressed and kids wanted more action features to their sets.
