Yes. Someone very close to me told me to but then, when the doctor told me just to take sedatives and sleep and sleep, I looked at the doctor and said NO. Even if I went through hell, I wouldn't deny my problems and cried to the point that the guards in my dorm thought I'd been raped or harrassed (since our school had scandals).
It wasn't for me.

I've had those moments too in therapy. But I really believe you have to meet the right doctors and therapists to undergo correct therapy. Most of those therapists just guide you to a certain direction. Most of it you have to do yourself.
Whereas, people always believe, "DO THERAPY AND YOU'LL BE HEALED!" is just a myth in itself. Therapy is very hard work. And those that expect you to sleep and take medications are only trying to push you away and not help you. I thankfully don't have those to an full extend, though they did want me to take medication..

Yes... it's sadly in our blood to react that way. Talking about the homosapiens now and the will to survive and attack anything unknown. But yeah, fear usually let's us get the better of us and the wish to stand "strong".
