Story: Merki has been proving herself as a competitor little by little. She had a good showing her her first race, and was picking up speed during practice. The little roan mare enjoyed running. Adrielle worked her often, keeping her interested and wanting to please. Granted, with her lines, Merki already had the recipe to be a champion. Adrielle hauled the 3 horses to the show, 2 racers, who would get their hired jockeys once at the track, and little Merki. Merki looked like a dwarf next to the two stock racers. As Adrielle prepared for the day, Merki sat calmly tied at the trailer. Munching on her hay and taking naps. When it came time for barrel racing, Adrielle has the little filly saddled and ready to go. It was a fair day, and the little roan was ready. Afterall, she'd reserved her energy all day! Adrielle warmed her up. Keeping her collected with a steady hold and then letting her keep herself collected on a loose rein. The filly was response, keeping herself up and underneath, especially when the contact came. Soon enough, their names were called, and they walked toward the arena gate. Adrielle kept the rein loose, and as they started coming across the threshold of the gate, she picked up the reins, gathering them, and then smooched and squeezed with her calves. Merki broke into a lope, and a few strides out, she was running. As they crossed the timers, they headed for their first barrel.
On a side note, I can't type, yikes, don't take pain meds and type kids, it's bad
