Description
They had been sitting around the fire talking about their families, their childhoods. One by one telling a story that they remembered most, before the war really hit them hard. All except Zuko, who refused to say anything about his past.

“Come on Zuko. Tell us something.” Aang begged Zuko. He was the only one who really befriended Zuko and trusted him.

“No. No stories tonight. I don’t want to talk about it.” Zuko started to get up and leave. What stopped him was what Katara had to say about his family.

“Why not? Come on, it can’t be that bad. Let me guess you had a perfect childhood and got everything you wanted. Nothing bad ever happened.” Katara started guessing on how the childhood of Zuko would have gone. She did it to spit him. On and on she went, with her harsh tone saying how wonderful his life must have been.

The flames started to grow more and more when Katara explained this fabulous story of hers. Aang realized what was wrong and tried to stop Katara, but she went on, unaware of what was going on. It had gotten to a point that Zuko couldn’t stand any more. He had enough of it.

“ENOUGH! You don’t know what you’re talking about. You don’t know anything about me.” The flames shot up ten feet as he yelled at Katara.

“Really? And whose fault is that? You do nothing; say nothing, except stay to yourself. If you want to be part of this group like you say, you need to speak up. Say something.”

Zuko hesitated for a minute before continuing on. Should he say what he really felt or not? Might as well.

“What is your problem?”

“What do you mean? I don’t have a problem.”

“Ever since I have joined your group, you have done nothing but rude and mean to me.”

“Gee, I wonder why. Maybe it’s because of what happened in Ba Sing Se.”

“I told you I was sorry, what more do you want? I have changed. Haven’t you ever done something you aren’t too proud of yourself? Haven’t you ever done anything you have regretted?”

“No, I haven’t.”

At this point, Toph can not stay silent anymore. She has to speak up against Katara.

“You’re lying.”

“What?! No I’m not. Why would you say that? Besides, your feet are burnt.”

“Just because my feet are burnt doesn’t mean that I can’t tell you are lying. Everyone here knows you are. Even Zuko is sure that you are. You know what you did.”

“I don’t know what you’re talking about.”

“Really? You mean you don’t remember? Well that’s a shock considering you couldn’t stop crying afterwards. You haven’t forgotten, have you?”

By now, Katara is really upset and embarrassed. Toph caught her on her lie, but she wasn’t going to let Zuko know he won.

“No. There is nothing I regret.” Katara exclaims as she glares Toph.

“Oh, that’s good to know. Why don’t you just use what you know against the Fire Lord? That’s it Sokka, we have a plan now. On the next full moon, let’s invade and let Katara handle him. Sound good?”

“Stop it Toph right now.” Katara says as she is holding back tears in fear that what she fears most will come true.

“Why? You said you don’t regret it. So why not embrace it? We can use it to our advantage since you are so proud.”

“NO! Stop Toph. Just stop it right now. Leave me alone.” At this point Katara releases her tears she had been holding back. Zuko sees how much pain she is in and steps in.

“So you have done something you have regretted too. You understand what I feel. I’m sorry for betraying you, but I had my reasons. As I’m sure you did too. You don’t have to tell me what you did. I won’t ask. But all I ask of you is that you stop being so critical of me. I’m on your side. I left my father and everything else behind to come here and help you. I’m not about to change sides.”

With that, Zuko walks inside leaving them behind at the fire, with a confused Katara who finally feels it is time to forgive Zuko. At that moment she releases her hate towards him. She runs away from the group and towards Zuko.
