PART OF MY BIG OL NALU DROP! this is a little sketch sheet just talking about some anatomical points that i didn't think were too clear/able to be focused on for the reference sheet which you can find right here!

Nalus stand at around 5 or 5 1/2 heads tall and this is their max height, they have elongated torsos and arms while their legs are relatively short and typically on the stocky side! Their legs are digitigrade where they stand on their clawed toes and have a small contact zone with the ground along with a short distance to the heels, occasionally when resting Nalu's will put their whole foot on the ground.

They have very human like faces with a human nose. The "fangs" typically shown on their faces are made of hard cartilage with very few nerve endings, they bite incredibly hard and it's near impossible to shake a Nalu off if bitten. Inside their mouth is an array of teeth and their tongues are shallowly forked. (Note: you don't have to draw your Nalu with 2 sets of teeth LMAO i couldn't decide on which so its more of an artistic choice to portray if you want or not!)

And finally their hair and fur typically grows in tufts, much like birds these tufts are waterproof, a good thing in a tropical environment and when dealing with annual flooding. Nalus are decent swimmers but most do not like being submerged in water at all! The top of their tails are covered in fur while the bottom is soft and segmented like a grub, they have a wide range of movement with their tails and swipe the hooked barb around, scratching objects to leave a pheromone trail.
