Description First thing first; I hate names. It should be randomized auto by DA!
Red, blue and white is the colors of hte norwegian flag, she is norwegian, I am, the truck is, we are in norway. So I thought it would be a fitting tittle

Anway, day seven of my 1 deviation every day for 30 days.
Best picture so far I daresay

I like the soft colors in it and the subtleness of it. The pose is good and the expression too.

This is beautiful. The lighting, composition and focus are great.

The only thing I think this pic needs is a better title - one that says something about the model. She is just so intriguing to me, that "Red, blue and white" just doesn't do her any justice

Well, what does it make you feel? Your title doesn't have to be something that everyone can understand. Something abstract works well in many cases

her hair really nice contrasts this red blue and white background, the perspective created by the red stripe is really nice and fits this calm picture ;D

If only the lighting was a bit better. The glare in the top left corner is a bit of a same. Though I like the coloured background and the model you chose as she kind of matches it (red hair, white skin, blue clothes). Great pose too.

Pakse In reply to votrereine [2006-09-26 08:49:02 +0000 UTC]

The glare is on purpose
Got one without it to, but this is better

I like the soft lighting on the skin creating all these soft subtle tones against the hair which seems to grow more aggressive as it moves downward in the frame. The blue in the background also helps bring out her eyes.

wow. I like how the red white and blue pertain to her face as well as the wall behind her. The red of her cheeks, the blue of her eyes, and the paleness of her skin. Love it

You asked me to give you some feedback in regards to some of your recent glam images - so here goes:

I am gonna be nitpicky on this - as you asked me to help you improve your work. But before I go into specifics - I want you to know that I do like this image. There are just a few small things I would improve upon.

One is for Ingrid your model... I think her chin should have been up a little more - so that the viewer could see her neck. I think it would be more flattering.

What if you had moved her to the right side of the frame - as opposed to more towards the center? What if you lowered your frame - and chopped some of the extra headroom so you could keep her entire left arm (right side) in the frame?

Lastly... where is the rest of her right hand? It's hidden behind her head, of course... This is a really nitpicky thing that bothers me to no end in my own work... I would have had her move her hand just a little bit out - so you could see it all. It just looks cleaner that way...

Stuff to think about... but your work is improving.

I agree generally with most, but specifically the tilt of the head. That needs adjustment. Shes a very lovely girl but the way her face is tilted is akward.

The modeling can be adjusted; the composition and more technical aspects are harder to work out

But this girl is so intriguing that you could throw her in a barren field in a potato sack and it would still be nice to look at...hehe

Pakse In reply to JackSilver [2006-09-25 16:05:51 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, I agree with the modelling thing. Ive been looking around for poses and stuff today. Preparing for tomorow. If the wheater turns out ok!

Ill try to do another wall picture and do something similar to your suggestion and see if I also think its better like that. But it sounds reasonable.

Didnt even think about the hand before you mentioned it and now its kinda annoying for me to

Ill see if I figure out something clever by tomorow and see if I can get it even better ^^

Thanks for good comment!

You will always be at a disadvantage being a male and dealing with females as subjects. Not to mention - there's always a difference between what a photographer sees... and what a model sees... in terms of a quality image.

The more aware you are of flattering poses for the female body - the better your photos will be and the more likly a model will be to work with you.

^Agreed. I can't help but feel that the corner light is distracting to the eye.

However, the model is very nice, love the hair color, goes well.

Might have to book me a ticket to Norway!

lens flares and light that white washes things....its my pet peeve because my camera does it so bad sometimes...or i will have the perfect shot and then in hindsight and editing i see something like that.

but its still a lovely image, i favorited it because it was unnexpected and i liked it

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 0

Pakse In reply to melissah [2006-09-24 19:19:58 +0000 UTC]

Actually, it was my choice to keep that light, I got one version without it, I thought it gave the image some...spark?
