Description Ack, will probably go back and adjust the alignment on this, it seems shaky.

In any case, this is the companion art to the previous gif I uploaded. This one is traditional, as I don't have confidence that I can yet line those little details in the hands digitally and keep them stable between frames. I will revisit this and polish it up once my skills develop further though.

Hopefully the anatomy of this gait is more apparent in this version. The secondary legs, as stated in the front facing version, hit the ground first, while the wrists on the front legs are flipping forward. The time between middle foot and front foot contact is much shorter than the time between either and the back foot contact. Note: The severity of the arched back depends on the posture and speed of the caeli! A full sprint scrunches up more, like a cheetah or dog, whereas a more casual rolling trot would keep the spine relatively straight. The weight swings from the back to the middle to the front, a bit like a rocking horse.

This is only one of many potential caeli gaits! It is by no means "rules" for how a caeli should run, but it is a guideline to an approved caeli gait by the head admin. Frames can be provided if you would like a closer/clearer look at any postures in this gait.

Shading was kept to a minimum to keep from cluttering the movement too much.

OOOO
Nice!!
I think a lot of the shakiness is in the head, it doesn't flow quite as smoothly as the body and legs do ^^

Yeah, actually what happened was I drew all the frames on the same piece of paper, but not the head because it wouldn't fit. The body went fine- I have a version with no head- and I thought adding the head on later would be easy... but because they were all on the same page, I couldn't see the previous frame under my drawing when I went back to change them. I'm working on a digital version now, though, and it's nice because it's easier to edit the frames without cruddy eraser marks. Likely what I'll do is make the digital one really smooth and have the head, post that, then edit this one and post the version that's just legs, so it has the detailed hand and joint movement without the distracting shakiness.

This looks great! I can agree when you say it's a little shaky (the last . . . 2 frames, I believe? The head there drops a bit too much between frames), but I honestly don't think it's too bad Certainly a better run cycle than I could do.
