Species: L. murrayi, L. declivus, L. curvatus, L. maccaigi, L. georgi, L. amphibious, L. bothai, L. breyeri, L. broomi, L. hedini, L. jeppei, L. jorisseni, L. latifrons, L. primitivus, L. putterilli, L. rajurkari, L. robustus, L. rubidgei, L. theileri, L. wageri, L. wagneri, L. weidenreichi, L. youngi.    

Meaning of name: Spoon lizard.

Distribution: South Africa, Antarctica, India, China & Russia.

Time: Late Permian and early Triassic

Classification: Dicynodontia, Lystrosauriidae.

Length: 1.2m

Lifestyle: Low browser.

Background is a photo of the Exe Estuary, UK. The cliffs to the west of Exmouth are Permian & to the east Triassic, start of the Jurassic Coast World Heritage site.

Thanks JC I have a bit more work to do on the muscles before it’s finished.
