Description Today we have not a Monster Hunter monster, but rather a Carnivores creature. A dinosaur or archosaur would be too predictable however, so here we have an arachnid instead!

In the real world, Mongolarachne jurassica was a spider from the Jurassic period of Mongolia, and the largest prehistoric spider we know of. While the real deal had legs that could reach the length of your entire hand, on FMM UV-32, Mongolarachne is equivalent in size to creatures such as Moschops.

FMM UV-32's Mongolarachne spins webs for two purposes - one is to entrap unlucky prey such as Moschops or Gallimimus, and the other is to mark territory. While hunters can easily stomp through the webs, even seeing them is considered a bad omen. Heeding the warning is a good idea, as Mongolarachne has a highly venomous bite that can kill hunters in seconds.

It should be noted that while Mongolarachne has exceptional hearing, it is actually more like an Earth spider's ability to detect vibrations, in this case those caused by a hunter's footsteps or a gun firing. Although this is not quite the same sense of hearing that dinosaurs use, DinoHunt Corp. lists it as hearing anyway to keep things simple.

Due to its stark contrast to the C2 Tour's dinosaur-based quarry and its overall rarity, DinoHunt Corp. has no plans to add Mongolarachne to the main hunting roster, unlike Coelophysis and Iguanodon.
