Been thinking a lot about Kemono recently and some other MHA OC's, wanna try and do some story driven art for her - maybe try and do some fake screenshots? Been debating on how I could illustrate parts to her story, but for now heres some info on her since it took me long enough to finally update this post

Beast + Invisibility- Kemono allows Kemono to transform into a beast, combined with her dragon like qualities combined with the inherited invisibility quirk from her mother, Kemono is also able to blend in with her surroundings, her skin acting similar to that of a chameleon, allowing her to disappear into her surroundings for a small period of time
Drawbacks: The longer Kemono stays transformed can lead to reckless behavior, making it easier for her to be outsmarted. Her invisibility also requires a lot of concentration to control, when invisible she will still cast a shadow, so use of her second quirk is limited depending on the circumstances

General bio: Kemono Menai was born to a criminal in America. Her mother, possessing the quirk invisibility worked as an undercover detective for the police force, she dreamed of becoming a hero, but with her quirk lacking in physical combat abilities, she was dropped to the role of private detective. Her mother was investigating her father, chasing his tail to try and bring him to justice with the backup of the police. Kemono's father worked better in the shadows, and conducted many illegal trade deals involving quirk boosting drugs and quirk support items. With his line of work he was well hidden, and had managed to evade capture on multiple occasions. Kemono's mother was one of the few that came close to capturing him, she was a threat to his reputation, and as such, she needed to be dealt with.

With her mother working round the clock at the police station, and with her father not wanting to risk capture by revealing himself, he couldn't kill her. He debated a hitman for hire, but turned down the idea. Kill her and there'd still be case files on him, killing her would solve nothing. She knew too much, he couldn't allow her to walk around freely, so he conjured another plan. Kemono's father was a determined man, dangerously so - years of work in the underground and dealings on the black market left him bitter and unsympathetic to others, a man who only cared for his own bloodline and money.
He deliberately lead on Kemono's mother. He watched her from afar, gathering all he could on her - he planned to use words against her, trick her into believing her mission was pointless, killing him - just one villain among his crew of underlings and lackeys, what good would it be if he where gone? Would the world really be so much better?? Quirk boosters gave people who felt like they could give nothing a chance, surely SHE of all people knew what that felt like. Not being able to cut it as a hero, must have hurt? To have that dream firmly stomped into the ground

He cuts into her deep, the taunting never stopping, not holding back his manipulation - he needed her to come willingly, he needed to make sure she was fully under his control. Kemono's mother didn't want to believe his twisted words, it made her sick to admit that some, maybe some of his words held..some truth to them. She continues to fail at capturing him, every time she got close he would retreat and keep his distance, only to return to rub salt in her wounds. He knows she's at the ends of her patience, so close to giving it up, all she needed was one last push: What was so bad about using quirk boosters anyway? Was it so bad to give those who felt helpless a little push? Everybody needs a little something, and if it makes them happy, why should he be the one to say that was wrong. After all, everyone was a prisoner to something. She, he insisted, was a prisoner to society's tainted views. Her quirk was different, and that deemed her unworthy of the title hero, wasn't that unfair? Afterall, she'd done so well to keep tailing him, he was impressed! Pity no one else saw her potential

Her mother's mental state crumbles, her body now hearing his words - her gut fought with her mind. People called him a villain, and yet she began to believe him, see the light in his words. She began to believe he was the only one who understood her, the only one who saw her potential - he was her only friend

Kemono's mother was reported missing, handing herself over to her father willingly as a hallow husk, a silent dog always at his side. He does not see her as a wife or as a bodyguard, he sees her as a belonging, something he needed to keep in check, know that he had her, he couldn't risk letting her stray too far. She lived an isolated life in his main base for drug shipments in the underground, always in his sight. He'd praise her like a kid, offering a polite smile when she did as she was told - but it was all fake, an act, something to remind her that he was going to be the only one who ever thought she could have been more then a cop, she'd be better off here, with him: she'd be treated with respect by his lackeys, be given anything she desired - all if she continued to do exactly as he asked of her. She fed of his words, his praise becoming all that she desired, punishments from him where cruel, though he never raised his hand to her. Sometimes she'd be locked in a room, be given no food, she wouldn't be allowed to accompany him on business just to smell the fresh air, he'd take away her blankets from her bed, leaving her cold in the underground base. And everytime, she'd always come back, admitting she was the one in the wrong, how he was only trying to keep her safe, how she was ungrateful

Along the line of her mother and father had her, her father did not plan to have any children, not wanting to step up and be a dad. He considered giving the thing away when it was born, or dumping it out on the street for someone else to take care of. Her mother was indifferent at the beginning, not feeling anything towards their future child. As the baby bump began to grow, and more so when Kemono was finally born, her mother had grown attached, the pregnancy experience was draining on her body, and yet she pleaded to her partner that the child could be sparred. Her father was not impressed at her display, but relented, and left the child be - not out of the goodness of his heart. The baby could be used as blackmail if the mother found her courage to try and leave, and the idea of someone continuing on his business had crossed his mind.

Chomps, who was working for Kemono's dad as a lackey to pay off his debt was given the task to take care of the child until it could handle itself. Chomps was born with the quirk teeth from his fathers side, yet inherited an altered canine appearance from his mother, who came from a long family line that was common for birthing children with physical altering quirks. Chomps had brought quirk boosting drugs from Kemono's father, a troubled childhood with his altered quirk lead to a lot of fighting, and soon enough he was one the run from police. Chomps is not fond of the brat, but he's not fond of disobeying his bosses orders either.

Kemono's quirk kicks in at four, a year early then expected. The mother tried to keep her distance from her, not wanting to grow attached. The manipulation from Kemono's father left her jumpy towards others, her sense of trust damaged. But the bond of a mother was not easily pushed from her mind, in a desperate plea she hands Kemono to Chomps, the two planning an escape for Kemono to Musutafu city, far away from her fathers and his business. Chomps makes his escape, having to leave behind his fiance Mitsy - he wanted to burn off his connection with her for her own safety, knowing someone would go after her if they found out he was also missing along with the bosses daughter. Managing to make a break for it on a plane with fake travel documents Chomps was able to have made with connections he had outside of his work with Kemono's business. Reaching Musutafu Chomps plan was to give Kemono up to an orphange, in hopes she'd then be adopted into a regular family far away from the life of crime. But when the time came, Chomps couldn't let her go. Chomps had spent all of his life alone, ever since he'd gone into the life of crime and left home at a young age. Having to leave behind his fiance Chomps heart longed for something to fill the gap, and he found that in raising Kemono as though she was his own.

Kemono grows up sheltered with Chomps, lacking good social skills. Old habits die hard as Chomps find himself barely scrapping by, picking up his old dealing habits on the black market. He teaches Kemono how to defend herself, taking her along with him on his business trips to teach her how the underground worked, he wasn't happy about it, but he knew it would be better to introduce her to reality then shelter her her whole life. She's pretty bad at making friends, since she's never really had many chances to interact with kids her own age. Before she came to UA she spent most of her free time cleaning or sitting on top of the roof of her's and Chomps's home cloud watching, when Chomps could find any he'd bring back books for her to read, but books where often rare on the black market, no real use for books when you could just get them in a store.

When Kemono enters the Shei Hassaikai as Eri's babysitter and is later found by Mirio and Deku Kemono is still awkward and on edge, she stays at UA faking as an American Transfer until Eri is rescued from Overhaul - as a means to keep her safe. UA was a totally different environment then what she was used to in the slums. It took her a while for her to get the hang of talking with people and learning how to make friends, but she manages to find a close pal in Mina, one of the first friends she made at UA. Later on she becomes friends with Oijiro, Hagakure, Shoiji and Yaoyorozu - she trains with Hagakure and Shoiji to improve her stealth, Oijiro to strengthen her tail muscles and her friendship with Momo picks up when she begins to take exams, to test her education to see if she was fit to enter onto the hero course (that comes later on in her story).

While pretending to be a transfer hero student she strikes up a one sided rivalry with Shinsou. Shinsou didn't like the extra competition, and saw it as unfair how someone was able to get onto the UA hero course so easy, especially when he had been working so hard. Their friendship is a slow burn, Shinsou not fond in making friends and Kemono not sure how to make conversation with people outside of class 1A. One day, just before Deku, Uraraka, Kirishima and Tsuyu return from the Hassaikai mission Kemono leaves the dorms to get some air, where she first meets Shinsou's cat Smokey. Kemono pets the cat, never having a pet before yet petting the creature seems to bring her some comfort. Shinsou comes onto the path looking for his cat, and the two end up sharing a moment of peace on the bench - Kemono sees a different side of Shinsou, watching him pet the cat, lightly smiling, and even chuckling a little, it was so different compared to the blunt side of Shinsou she'd first met. The two talk, it's a short conversation, but it's something. The conversation helped Kemono get her mind of Deku and the others and how Eri was doing, it was the first since of kindness she'd been shown outside of class 1A, maybe Shinsou wasn't all grump afterall . Smokey takes a liking to Kemono after that incident, and the two slowly begin to grow closer through taking care of Smokey. Kemono buys him treats when she can, sometimes Smokey will come to her dorm to see her, sometimes the two would meet outside and pet Smokey together.

In the one month preparation for the UA Festival Kemono grows closer with Shinsou as a friend, the twos friendship is still a slow burn, but Kemono no longer feels awkward or tense around him, and Shinsou finds her company less annoying then others, but he never admits this, smug boy. She also makes friends with Pony, who reaches out to her to try and share some of her interests. Pony, also being a transfer student form American wanted to meet Kemono, and though Kemono is sometimes confused by her enthusiasm, she finds an unlikely friend in her.

In the run up to the festival Kemono comes clean on the truth about her involvement with the Hassaikai and how she was only acting as a transfer student. With her being out of the picture in the rescue mission, Kemono's name was kept out of the paper and news for her own safety, but Aizawa told her that with how cautious and protective she was being of Eri the truth would at some point come to life, or others would figure it out. He tells her she doesn't need to come clean to everyone, just the people she'd want to hear it from her, before they connected the dots themselves. Kemono takes the close friends she'd made at UA aside and explains outside the dorms, Deku coming along for support to back up her story. At this time, Shinsou overhears the conversation, hurt and betrayed, feeling as though his trust had been broken, he runs and leaves back for his dorm. Kemono is left crushed the next day, spending the whole day in her dorm room, afraid of what the others think of her. On the following day, a Sunday, Mina convinces Kemono to join her and the girls out for a day in town, to try and brighten her mood. Kemono is hesitant to spend their money they insist on lending her, but at the end of the day Kemono is assured that her friends aren't mad, may have teared up a bit at one point, but overall, the day was a happy one.

When the day was over, Kemono was still sad - she'd made amends with people in 1A, but what about Shinsou? She felt..bad, scared, upset, she was worried Shinsou wouldn't forgive her, what hurt more was how Kemono felt as if the two where finally starting to become friends, and now, it was ruined. With the reassurance of Deku, Kemono goes to try and talk with him. Shinsou is not keen to listen to her, or her apology I'll go more into this scene in the story on Wattpad and will hopefully draw some art for it, but Shinsou agrees to forgive her - but their friendship would take longer to rekindle. He'll forgive her, but insists that he will still become a hero, that he will get onto the hero course, even if that meant he had to beat her in a fight for that place.

The UA festival finally rolls around, and Kemono joins alongside Mirio and Eri. She stays to watch 1A performance, and enjoys it, like with Eri for the first time since joining UA properly smiling. After the concert she meets back up with Deku after the performance, praising him for the show and how much she enjoyed it. When the four go and watch the beauty pageant Kemono is approached by Mina who asks what she thought of the concert. The two share a small conversation to catch up, before Mina asks if Kemono wanted to join her and Kaminari in checking out 1C's haunted maze. Kemono is hesitant, not wanting to leave Eri - even if she's with Mirio and Deku. She goes to turn down the offer, when Mirio interjects, telling Kemono the festival is just as much for her as it is for everyone else. He encourages her to go and enjoy herself, they'll keep a close eye on Eri for her while she's gone. Kemono is at first nervous, scared to leave Eri..but in the end, agrees to go along with Mina. Their trip around the festival is crazy, Kemono ended up being dragged along everywhere! At first she kept continuously wondering about Eri, but at some point..she stopped worrying, and began laughing, smiling, and enjoying herself

The two share a small conversation to catch up, before Mina asks if Kemono wanted to join her and Kaminari in checking out 1C's haunted maze. Kemono is hesitant, not wanting to leave Eri - even if she's with Mirio and Deku. She goes to turn down the offer, when Mirio interjects, telling Kemono the festival is just as much for her as it is for everyone else. He encourages her to go and enjoy herself, they'll keep a close eye on Eri for her while she's gone. Kemono is at first nervous, scared to leave Eri..but in the end, agrees to go along with Mina. Their trip around the festival is crazy, Kemono ended up being dragged along everywhere! At first she kept continuously wondering about Eri, but at some point..she stopped worrying, and began laughing, smiling, and enjoying herself
