Here is a Champion Mantle Great Dane I once had the pleasure of photographing. This was a fun photo shoot for me...one animal, few people, awesome park, the great outdoors...it was an awesome day!

Great Danes are one of my favorite breeds. Zairis--MY dane-- is not, per say, HUGE, she is of course more petite--as most females are, but she retains the ideal proportions and angles the breed is known for. I have literally seen female danes that look more like grey hounds, and THAT is a bad thing, especially when some people breed them! A dane is SUPPOSED to have a very dignified face shape, which is actually unique amond dog breeds. It is supposed (IMO) to command the visual presence of per say, a Mastiff, with the refined body like a Gazelle--made for running long distances. This particular dane had all the features a well bred dane is supposed to have. I believe his name was Thor. He was a good one to photograph.
