And now for something completely different.

Since it was a lot easier to play around with/alter colors, I decided to work in illustrator. And... decided to make them adorable. Because it was easy. Yeah. that's my excuse and I'm sticking with it.

The current working title for the project is Chapel Also Ran, in reference of the fact that 1) Chapel runs from damn near everything and 2) an also-ran is used to refer to "a person who attains little to no success."

Small character summaries, just because they've changed a little bit as we've continued to work out kinks in the story, from left to right:

Chapel - Also known as the All-Traitor, the Thousand-Killer, Orphan-Stomper and "that old dumbass." The titular character, several years ago the man used an artifact to destroy an entire world. The loss preventing him from using conventional magic, he instead relies on gadgets and magic items to weasel his way out of difficult situations. He is logical and controlling, and his means seem to lend credence to his nicknames... But despite that, he seems to go out of his way not to kill anyone.

Thundring - Chapel's dog. Nobody knows why it follows him around, or why Chapel allows it. Theories include: backup food source, meatshield, or to scout.

Saulia - One of the heroes that tried to put a stop to Chapel many years ago, she currently finds herself bored and without much hero'ing to do. After the capture of Chapel, she's assigned to not only keep an eye on him, but also find out more about the man, the artifact he carries, and the best way to wretch it from his dead hands. She is often curious to a fault, and though often impatient and flighty, a generally good person.

Luther - Originally one of the many people attempting to hunt Chapel down and kill him, he changes his tune after being assisted. Quiet, though prone to quick bouts of rage, the prince of the southern region is said to be able to halt an entire army with only his shield.

Aros - Nobody really knows about the mage in purple. Conventional magic takes an item to channel it--such as a staff, or a wand--but Aros seems to just... grab whatever item he can and use that (whether it be a stick, a small child, Thundring, etc.). The party has no doubt his motives are anything but pure, but they can't seem to get rid of the damn guy. He's annoying and probably smells bad, but he sure can cast pretty spells.
