This is my secondary art school examination work and my first "serious" oil painting that I began from last autumn and finished in late February. For the examination work, we've got to create whatever we wanted and I made a tribute portrait of the Crown Princess of Sweden in order to highlight all her deeds and efforts she have made as Crown Princess for all the people (both in Sweden and abroad) and to highlight her unique persona as a royalty. She differs from many royalties, for instance, she was the first princess in Europe to graduate a university and she's very open and reachable for the public. She has also created The Crown Princess Victoria Fund in order to support children with functional disabilities or chronic illness.

The painting is based on an official photo. The choice of the photo was essential in order to materialize my idea. I wanted to highlight her tender and caring personality which she has towards all the people, especially towards Swedish citizens. This idea was represented by a warm gaze and a loving embrace of the newborn prince.
