Description Oh dear oh dear oh dear! Thank goodness I avoided the obvious pun... but honestly, it seems this deviation disappeared from my gallery. How on earth can that be???????

Anyway, it doesn't matter, and I had best do this anyway, as here is the properly scanned version which I must say does it much better justice. So enjoy, and if you've seen and faved this before, I'm very sorry. I just can't seem to find it in my gallery at the moment, and for all I know, it could be one of those random dA glitches.

I love it! I'm going through all the deviations that piled up in my inbox during my exams, so I apologise if this seems a late response on my part

I think a lot of deviants have been doing that lately... sometimes I forget, as I'm done with school for good. It feels so odd, to have been out for a whole year already...

I almost miss it!

And thanks!

I have a long time to be a student still, so prepare yourself for a routine mass- of your work each summer holiday

I'd miss uni, myself, but not the exams

Lovely details, especially the deer's fur, and the tree bark. The way you painted the bushes on the ground with watercolors (I think) adds a nice effect.

It's so amazing *___*

What was the medium you used?
I can't believe that as detailed fur as that could be painted traditionally.

pallanoph In reply to Rosaka-Chan [2009-05-11 07:07:13 +0000 UTC]

Ah! I completely forgot to add the description in my comment...

It is purely watercolor on 140 lb hot press watercolor paper. Plus traces of blood, sweat, and tears... With a good dose of patience, too!

Traditional is the way I learned, and I have a feeling it will always remain my forte... digital is still mostly a mystery to me, though I am learning.

*speechless* So brilliant...

I have sort of... quit on traditional art. I've been practising digital media after since I got my wacom. But after seeing your gorgeous works I feel like trying the old and familiar medium again.

It's always nice to go back to something you haven't done for a while. You'll remember a lot of things, and it can be really nice for getting out of ruts.

Speaking of which, I should go paint with some gouache one of these days... (otherwise known as opaque watercolor )

Normally I'm too refined with entire pieces. I'm finally getting to the point where I can use different effects to create better depth.

And thank you!

It's never happened to me before, either. And for whatever reason, it wasn't in my scraps, either...

But that's okay, because it's better, and it's here.

And this is another thing that I should really get sent out. Lot's of mailing to do.

"Now better tasting!" I don't know why, but I thought of those claims on various packaged foods that claim such.

I guess the same applies to the scanned version of this!

Fooooooooliage...
