Description This is my new idea for a Soviet Cold War experimental amphibious self-propelled artillery vehicle BVM-1A Kuvshinka (Боевая водная машина 1 артиллерийская - Кувшинка)

When the USSR began production of the 2S1 Gvozdika, the vehicle was amphibious, but wasn't able to fight in water as effectively as it did on land. BVM-1A is made for effective combat on land, but also in water. He can be quickly released from the ship into the water, he can quickly cross from one shore to another, but he can also actively fight in the water. It is, in short, a light amphibious boat with tracks.

The vehicle has a 122mm howitzer, which is well accurate and can be reloaded quite quickly, but its range is less than other howitzers of those years. The experimental turret type of this vehicle looks strange and does not have full rotation, but it has a great advantage in camouflaging the vehicle and gives the crew more free space to control the howitzer. The vehicle's armor is not exactly the strongest. However, the vehicle is very fast on land, and in the water it is driven by tracks and an additional light engine in the rear, which can significantly accelerate the vehicle in water, up to a speed of up to 20 km/h.

BVM-1A Kuvshinka;

+ Amphibious vehicle
+ Good camouflage
+ High speed
+ Fast reloading
+ Good accurate
+ Good speed in water
+ More space inside
- Weak armor
- Shorter range of shot
- Non-fully rotating turret
- Unsuitable for close combat

It's not real, it's my imagination
