During one of her teams missions outside the village she gets her teammate killed. This puts her in a depression for a long time.

Age 14; gets put on a new team. She is now a better ninja, using taijutsus and twin hook swords as her main weapons.

Age 15; Chuunin Exams

During Chuunin Exams she uses her Kekkai Genkai for the first time. There is a Minaru clan member in the crowd during the finals of the chuunin exams. He recognizes the Shyama Chakra and the Kekkai Genkai. After the chuunin exams he approaches her, asking why a Shyama Clan member would be so far from the village. Verena has no knowledge of her heritage and has always gone by Verena Hitsu. He takes her for lunch and tells her about the Orange Blossom Village, and her family- leaving out that they would kill her.

Becoming curious about her family she tries to pry more information from her aunts. They try to explain the dangers and that her mother had asked them to take her. Verena wants to hear nothing of it and decides to leave on her own to find the Orange Blossom Village.

During her travels she becomes friends with a red haired girl named Phoenix. Phoenix quick notes: A child from the northern villages, she is quiet and aggressive. Verena saves Phoenix from some other ninja who are trying to rob her. After this Phoenix joins Verena on her travels

Arrival at the Orange Blossom Village. The leader of the Shyama Village is taken completely off guard when Verena shows up. The man she sent after Verena had informed the leader that she was dead. He is shortly killed there after this for his failure. The leader of the Shyama Village has Verena followed and monitored. During this Verena meets Seiji Shyama, the future clan leader. Seiji comes off as silent and brooding. Notes: Seiji is violent, but has strong beliefs he is not afraid to kill others to get what he wants. His younger brother was also a green eyed shyama and was killed as baby. His mother committed suicide after this. Seiji may be the prodigy of the Shyama clan, but he hides that he is against the murder of the green eyed children. He is pending his takeover of his clan.

During this Verena will develop a crush on Kaito Shizuka. Kaito is her escort around the village. They become romantically involved but all this is a ploy. Shizuka clans Kekkai Genkai is to mess with peoples memories. He is working for the Shyama Clan Leader to find information on her past and why she is here. Quick Notes: Kaito develops feelings for Verena and becomes very sad when he has to erase her memory of time with him.

Once the Shyama Clan leader becomes assured that Verena doesn’t have back up coming for her she invites her for a meeting. There she uses Zetsumei Seshoku to paralyze Verena. The Minaru guards then take Verena to the Shyama torture Chambers. She is tortured to kill the evil within her, when she no longer has the strength to move they throw her into the death pit. The death pit is where they keep all the people they’ve killed, including the babies.

Seiji climbs to the bottom of the pit and rescues her, he brings her to the outskirts of the main Shyama Compound. There he is met by a member of the Green Fang. He asks them to take her to safety. Seiji sends Phoenix to meet them up ahead.

Age 17

The Green Fang: They are a ninja group that are not loyal to any village. They fight for good, and can be hired by other villages. They have a base located under water, and are training to fight the akatsuki.

Verena recovers and trains with them. She becomes an elite shinobi, she doesn’t care about the Akatsuki, her thoughts are on getting revenge.

During this time she has an affair with another green fang member. This affair is cut short, when he sets off many bombs in the facility.(Underwater facility- not the most ingenious idea) He is revealed to be the newer akatsuki member, Deidara. Though a great amount of Green Fang members lived Verena does not remain. She is once again hurt, and betrayed. Her and Phoenix travel back to the Sand Village

Her aunts welcome her home, thinking she had been dead for these past 2 years. She continues her training with Phoenix. During these months she discovers she's pregnant. Even though she hates Deidara she keeps the baby, giving birth to her daughter Hana.

This is where her story pretty much leaves off currently. In the future she will return to the Orange Blossom Village, and the civil battle on the island will ensue.
