type #1: start with Tia(na) somewhere at the brink of meeting (up) her counter characters (partners, protagonists and [desa]gonists ( <- grammar nazi requested))
and during the story, bits like previous encounters and character's backgrounds are explaned (or shown as flashback)
type #2: halfway through the story, half of it will be explaned like flashbacks when mentioned
to provide readers with the details required to understand what they talk about/are doing (it for),
including 'already' planned out actions (like collecting another artifact, or capturing/resquing someone/something important)
and BG story.
at least if it is mostly action. if it is more comedy, then i suggest begin at the beginning, flashbacks are for BG story only and not handy in 'for snizz and giggles' kind of stories.
