Hello there,

first i must say, i love this composition so much, that I made it my desktop wallpaper. I may be a little bit partian on this painting but I try to be objectiv. The medieval township looks great. Especially the shadow work you have done there is pretty outstanding. You can see that at the mirroring (is that the right word?) in the puddle: The puddle is in the shadow ad the mirrored people not, thats a very fine detail in my opinion and is just an example of the gread shadowing in the picture.

What I like very much is the aliveness of the picture. You can look at it and you can smell and feel the little market, fresh air and hear the people talking, maybe it's that for me that makes it outstanding.

The only thing i would change on this picture is the position of the monk (?) on the middleleft, through the shadows he is kind of vanishing with the background.

Keep up the great work, i don't have any thing else to say.

Hello Panjoool

At first glance this piece looked like a digital painting to me, i swear, so that shows that you made a great job editing all these different stock images all together.
It really feels like an ordinary day in some medieval capital city.

Love the balance of warm and cool tones and the whole piece is very easy to read and doesn't feel cluttered at all.

The only "noise" i find in the whole piece is the left sector of the image, it seems to me like that building is taking way too much space and it only adds darkness to the whole scene. I even covered the building with my hand and everything else seemed to stand out a lot more. I'm not suggesting to crop all that left side, not entirely, just a good part of it, try it covering it yourself, that shadowed area is taking 1/3 of the piece. it's like "blank" space for the viewer since we focus more on the light and contrasted areas.

I hope you don't mind my english.

I think you did perfectly with this. The lighting and shadows is just right, it feels natural to me. The people seem natural to me and so is the amount; it's busy but not busy enough to overtake the piece. It's suitable really since it's a quieter part of town. You've used the right buildings here, definitely medieval looking.

I get the feeling of a living, vibrant town from this calm and quiet area. I also think the colors are just right for this one.

I have no real complaints, only thing I can say it's not really unique or standing out as a concept. Technically it's great.
