Description
Trade with =AlectorFencer for the LJ ACEO exchange this month.
This is her character the Plant Spirit .
I was toying with the idea of painting it in autumn colours, but honestly I like the green the best!
I used more gouache in this than I usually do but I think it came out nicely
She drew Pannya for me and the card is utterly adorable! [link]

I love the way the leafy mane comes round to to the front and she's like peering from behind it.
The face looks strangey human, not sure how...but it's gorgeous and calm. love it ^^

Thank you! And yeah the Plant spirit struck me as a very sentient being with great intelligence, so that's probably what I worked into its face

I received this awesome amazing and breathtaking painting a couple of days ago yet came back yesterday evening so I finally could open it yesterday and I almost fell over! This is so absolutely awesome in real life, I'm so happy that we made this trade!

I'd be so tempted, when drawing the plant spirit, to just wip out my thin black pen and add the fur detail to the face. But this would be BAD and flatten it, thus is my curse!
But you've added such fine detail to the face using subtle tones of grey. And the detail in those vines in breathtaking.
How do you put such detail in such a small area, it boggles me

Reminiscent of the angry Boar spirit in Miyazaki's Mononoke Hime. Cool! (Especially the tendrils coming out of the eyes.)
