Description

Heavy dust clouds and nebula shroud the epicentre of an ancient supernova, now illuminated by the newborn stars born in its wake.

Painted as a replacement backdrop for my website, as part of my transition away from Adobe CC. The original backdrop was licensed through Adobe Stock, however it turns out that the painting copyright did not belong to Adobe; I'm not sure what happened, but when I went looking for credits, the artwork was gone from its database (as far as I could tell), so it was time to make a replacement. In the end, I'm glad I did, although I still prefer the original's ambience, which I didn't try to replicate, but instead forged something new.

I found this hard to paint; mainly because I started it during the day and the ambient light destroyed my ability to actually see colour differences, so I had to shift my schedule to paint it at night so I didn't have to deal with glare and the headaches I was getting from squinting at my display.
