My Karis is representing me to the left when I was 9 years old, and then to the right as an adult. The blank guy here represents a very important fictional character in my life, one that I developed a strong connection with since childhood. Some people may call it a crush but in reality the character always was a big brother/father figure to me in my personal "fan fiction".

When I became a fan as a kid I was 9 and the character was a teenager, then as time passed we both got older, he aged alongside me, so I keep the 7-8 years gap between us, sometimes even more, but the point is, for me he's always the oldest. What makes it weird is that while he has appeared in some media as an adult, the most well known incarnations has him as a teen (even though he looks, sound and behave more like a mini adult in those) which is annoying because I would like to see him all grown up just like I have him in my mind.

Interestingly, many people told me the feel the same with other characters but I want to see what other people think about this. Have you feel the same way with a fictional character? That you aged them up in your own fan fiction because that's how you see them?

I keep the fictional character in question in blank because I rather keep that part to myself ^^

Fun fact: Karis did not exist when I was young, she also have never interacted with this fictional character in any fan fiction of mine, I only borrowed her for representation here.
