Description TALLONE SHADELEAF

A cool winter breeze rustled the multicolored leaves of the fifty different trees taken from fifty different planets of Alistair's Garden.  The seven hundred year old park created in thanks to the founder of Utopia.  The wizard who gave his life to save his planet, Utopia, from the ravages of war that destroyed his original home world.  The peaceful park was enchanted with a nourishing spell for the plants the wizard cherished, and a tranquility spell to keep it calm and peaceful for a blissful escape from the otherwise loud city of mechanics and magic.

In the night, a shadow moved.  Detaching itself from the boughs of a tree and with a small leap, his feet hit the ground as silently as a cat.   The figure was of average height and wearing a dark mask over his face.  Behind them, pointed ears showed just at the tips revealing him to be inhuman.  Long curly black hair fell from the hood in showers around his face.

Somewhere in the distance a dog barked.  The shadow stopped as the sound rang through the air from the city.  Caution was a virtue at this stage and he knew it.  If I'm discovered now everything I have worked for will be ruined!  He stayed frozen for what felt like years before he even dared to breathe again.

Quickly and silently he took off.  Running as lithely as a wild cat through the maze of multicolored trees.  Hurtling through as if a pack of wolves were after him,  his footsteps didn't stop until a faint glow reached his strange almond eyes.

The silver trunk of the tree rose above the rest.  Golden leaves and violet flowers in full bloom graced the long curving branches that reached toward the sky like the fingers of a great giant.

The elf gazed upward as if entranced by the beauty of the tree.  His mind began to blur and thoughts became muddy as if his skull had been filled with sludge.  All of his senses began to focus only on the beauty of the Siren Tree.  Nothing stirred around the bewitched elf that could draw his sharp senses.

Until the ground trembled a little, revealing the floating continent had entered the atmosphere of another inhabitable planet.  The elf slowly blinked as his mind began to refocus.  We're here!

"Nice trick Pendragons, but it won't be enough to stop me from destroying it and taking down this wretched planet of yours once and for all." The elf growled as he stooped down and pressed his fingers into the dirt around the Siren Tree's roots.  He whispered a few words as he closed his eyes.  For a few moments nothing happened, and the elf stayed there unmoved and completely focused.  Then a tremor coursed its way through his body and a bolt of magic shot into the earth, absorbed by something buried beneath it.  The elf opened his glowing eyes and smiled a fiendishly revealing sharp teeth beneath his mask.  It's here!

He stood back up and cast a glance around uttering a silencing spell as he did.  Once he was sure there was no one watching him, he stepped back away from the beautiful tree.  This time he focused his attention upon the roots at his feet and uttered another spell.

The ground groaned and creaked beneath the silver roots.  The elf stood back as the dirt began to shifted, revealing a long twisting stairway leading down into the soil.  It was as black as a raven's wing, and even the elf's keen vision had trouble penetrating the darkness.

The elf didn't hesitate.  As soon as his feet hit the first stair he knew the many magical wards and alarms had triggered calling the Pendragons to protect the ancient secret hidden beneath the grounds of their founder's garden.  Racing down the stairs like a juggernaut, he didn't dare stop until at last his feet hit solid ground once more.

The room he stood in was circular with hundreds of runes and enchantments sewn into the walls.  In the middle of the room a shifting cube, much like a rubix cube with restless, moving sides floated emitting a faint blue glow that bathed the entire room.  The elf approached the object cautiously, knowing it was the root of the planet, or at least one of them.  Three more were buried throughout the entire continent in random places.  Destroying all four was foolish and would only bring death, but destroying one…would leave Utopia trapped upon whatever world it was near.

All his life Tallone had searched for this cube, only to have it rotating in a room only miles from his own home.  The druid ground his teeth in anger and frustration at the accursed magic that didn't bring anything but misery and unnatural abominations like the floating planet.  No more.  This planet is done for now, and when it stops and the Pendragons come running, my trap will spring and I will be the new leader.

The black robed elf drew out a hammer from the folds of his clothes.  He grinned with malice as he brought the weapon down upon the cube creating sparks as the two magical objects collided.  With every blow the cube emitted sparks and began to crumble beneath the strain of the magic and damage.  The elf laughed with triumph as the sparks began to light up the entire room.  A low rumbling began, at first unnoticed by the elf who laughed as he swung, "Yes, spark and crumble you filthy unnatural thing!  I will see to your destruction and watch Utopia howl!"

The rumble changed to a roar as the cube fell to the floor.  The light faded as the ground began to collapse.  The elf continued to laugh even as the tree fell through and landed on top of him, but it was too late, the damage was done.

You've been busy since I was last here! ^^ I'm looking forward to reading this new story - does it, by any chance, have something to do with your first one?

Interestiiiing.

"...thoughts became muddy as if his skull had been filled with mud" kinda bothered me though. 'Muddy,' 'filled with mud.' Or I'm just thinking too much?

Oh, and they have rubix cubes there? Cool~
