Description "If I wanted to freeze in the snow, I could have just stayed home..." the little bluebird muttered. "So, why didn't you," questioned the robin, in a simple, matter-of-fact tone. "Well...because I wanted to visit you, of course." The two feathered friends were stretching their wings after a quick meal, but the sun had already set, and the clouds let loose a flurry of white flakes. Every other winged creature with good sense was already tucked away in a nest.
"We can land here for now." The brown feathers in front dived towards the trunk of a small tree, with a tiny flash of blue darting after. They perched, one after the other, on a fair-sized branch in the middle of the canopy. Eager to warm up, the bluebird removed the snow from it's feathers with one quick shake. "My tail's so cold, I think it's about to fall off!"
Blue hopped over to the other, and began helping the robin by brushing the excess snowflakes off their back. "It is not even that bad tonight! You silly thing, I don't know how you survive at home if you're complaining about this. You certainly wouldn't survive /here/," Robin teased a bit. "Are you kidding? How are we not dead from this already?" The eastern blue emphasized with a shiver.
The robin rolled it's eyes and extended a wing, pulling the bright-colored ninny over towards the base of the branch. "Here, we will be warmer. We can just take a nap and wait it out." This sounded like a nice idea to the bluebird, and so it kept it's beak shut and huddled closer. The two little birds fluffed out their feathers and snuggled into each other, gave a goodnight chirp, and closed their eyes.
