How was the sales experience. I've been thinking about doing it next year and have been trying to get stuff ready for it.

it's always a slight gamble unless you know you're a popular artist with definite buyers. I've been lucky thus far and have at least made my money back at the cons I've attended, but I've also seen people go home with almost all their prints intact. I make a good portion from quick sketch commissions too.
In the end, it's the way you approach it. I don't rely on drawing to make money... having it be able to pay for some cons is just an added benefit. Meeting people and shooting the shit has always been the main objective. I could care less if I take losses; that would just make it a normal trip/vacation for me.

I can honestly say that I will probably not sell anything. It's cool though since it'll give me something to do and since I hardly ever buy anything at cons anymore the money has to go somewhere. Hopefully, I can sit next to someone who is equally as unpopular and we spend the entire time yelling at passer-byes.

Just my local con here in Texas: A-kon. It's pretty big but manageable. The artist alley is most familiar to me and I assume that I will be able to adapt fairly well. Plus, it'll give me an idea of traveling with prints and merchandise on a smaller scale. It doesn't go on until June of next year so you have some time.
