3rd Official character presentation!

Meet Captain (Itto Rikui) Kahoru Fujiwara of the 8th Infantry Regiment, 13th Brigade of the Central Army based in Yonago, in the Tottori Prefecture, Japan. She's from the Japanese Ground Self-Defence Force (JGSDF - 陸上自衛隊 Rikujō Jieitai).

She was born in Matsuyama, Ehime Prefecture on September 15th, 1995.

Raised in a conservative family, Kahoru joins the GSDF at age 18 in 2013. Initially serving in the 51st Infantry Regiment, 15th brigade of the Western Army (Okinawa) as a 2nd Leutenant. Her motivation and good spirit and good leadership leads her to rise quickly get a promotion to 1st Leutenant.

During the opening stages of WW3 in east Asia, her unit was virtually anihilated during an ambush from the Chinese People's Liberation Army Marine Corps. She comes out as one of two survivors from the ambush and manages to evade capture. Before the fall of Okinawa, she and the remaining JGSDF and United States Marine Cops troops evacuate towards the main Japanese Islands. She's then transfered to the 8th Regiment with the rank of Captain were she participates in the SDF preparations to fight off any possible Eur-Asian Alliance invasions and support NATO against the EAA in the East Asia-Pacific region.

The loss of her unit during the Battle of Okinawa has made her a far more stricter officer with her troops in the 8th Regiment. She feels the ambush was her responsability and feels therefor compelled to not allow it happen again. The ambush has also made her very suspicious of the chinese (Which is actually a fairly common thing in Japan), this will lead to some very conflictive issues in the future. She lacks patience for unperforming soldiers and she has zero tolerance for any insubordinates.

Her military carrer and early war experiences have turned her into a woman with a slighty cynical view of the world.

She's pretty conservative in terms of cultural values. She's not very fancy of modern Japanese Culture, specially all that nerdy trend called manga and anime [....... wait a minute... =_= ]. She's very into Japanese Calligraphy and Kendo.

I guess that's all I can say about her for now. I think I've even given a bit too many spoilers.

I made this the same way as usual. I used real life units this time unlike with the presentations of Helga and Max which featured fictional units. I had to improvise the 8yh regiment patch just a little.
I also did a significant amount of reasearch to get the uniform right, with patch, ranks and occupational pins, all studied. So it's another fairly accurate uniform.

I'm pretty much happy with this project although the smaller picture of Kahoru saluting is kind of crappy, her head is too big. But aside from that I'm satisfied with this. More character presentations shall come in the future, 'though not very soon. Making all the units research and try to dig out the patches for them is a *************************.
