Beautiful capture - each time I try to shoot birds I get blurry messes of shots... The longest lens I have is 300mm, perhaps that's the reason...or I am too far away myself... I envy your beautiful birds!

Thank you very much... I really appreciate your comments!!!
I have a bird feeder that I keep well stocked and there's two feet of snow on the ground... my wife and I take turns standing out on the porch shooting at everything that moves!!!

That's awesome!! =eskimoblueboy has helped us build a deck, and soon I am going to try to put out some more feeders within range of sight from the deck. I can't wait until spring!! The only active birds around my house in winter are blackbirds! LOL

Yep... get some feeders out this spring and you'll never have to go far to take bird photos. Back in my old days of 35mm photography I used to put a camera on a tripod and pre-focus my longest lens [with extension tubes] on a likely flower. I used a 25 foot air pressure cable release and sat in a comfy lawn chair and shoot bees and butterflies as they would visit the flower. I'm sure you can do something like that with your feeders... especially a Hummingbird feeder!!!!

I've already told Jeremy I want that for anniversary!! I can't wait to get everything finished in the yard and get to shooting. It will be a few months though. I'm not patient! LOL

I used to think all of these little guys migrated south for the winter, but we have them here all year long. Love the photo, Richard.

Thank you... I think they just look a little different in their "winter drab" plumage!!!
