Beached "shove" at Peninsula State Park, Door County, Wisconsin... from our third overnight photo-shoot there in the last six weeks.The weather was spotty but at times it was very cooperative. Peninsula State Park, Door County, Wisconsin.

Yeah, our "winter" last year was a real cop-out.
But this one is shaping up to be pretty decent. Got some fresh snow today, and I think it is supposed to stay cold for a while, and possibly snow more tomorrow.

We called Peninsula State Park... no "ice shoves" this year. We had some big snows but were hoping for the right conditions for the huge shoves that we had seen in previous years [3 and 4 years ago]. Maybe next year!!!

A fine image. I've been meaning to get down to my local shoreline this winter, but just haven't made it often enough this winter. You never know when the ice and water will give you a gift lke this.

I have witnessed this myself and remember feeling small because of the noise ice makes when the tide or current pushes it on shore. It was a bit unnerving. Great shot Richard.
