Kinda quickly put this together, sorry about the mess lolBut I can see Steven being all excited like his dad about his kid
And Connie being a nervous wreck and accidentallyΒ scaring Steven awake with the news
why? Because babies
So I have a question that I need a few opinions on
What will happen with Steven and his gem when this child is born?
Like this is why I cant start an idea because I'm stuck on that question
Does he lose it but continue to live on? Does he keep it since he's technically not giving birth? Does the child not get the gem but still have links to small powers from the gem?
Like guys, help me out

Since Steven isn't the one giving birth, the child won't have his gem. However, since the child is still 1/4 gem, it will have gem qualities (such as oddly coloured hair, skin, or natural weapon skills). This is really good, by the way!

I think it would take on more human traits than gem traits since the baby would be born from Connie, a human, and Steven is part human, but who knows.

Well i dont think Steven will lose his physical form or anything if he were to have a child. Though i could imagine Connie's pregnancy being much more energy consuming. For example she'd lie down more and she'd eat more, my theory is that either the child would be a perfect fusion of gem and human such as not needing a gem because the whole body is basically an organic gem, Or instead of a baby it would become a gem that later develops an organic body. Theories, theories :I Though considering she'd be making both a gem and a human her pregnancy would be possible to last longer and not show much result until later during pregnancy.
Sorry, dunno why i get so interested in speculating a theory like this but, again, i just find it interesting :3

I imagine the oldest child looking like Stevonnie, the middle child looking just like Steven, and the third (if Steven and Connie decide to have another one) child would skip a generation and look more like her grandmother Rose.

I drew something later on that was what both kids look at different ages. The eldest Rosie looks like Stevonnie in her teen year, and Alex looks like Steven in his child years

Steven is not carrying the baby, he provides genetic material for the child, he would be fine, unless he carried the baby. The child however...might...not..be human

I would think it would be more likely a human who grows a gem over time, slowly feeding of the humans lifeforce and organic components, but also empowering them to survive longer and better. If the human can life long enough (maybe a century maybe longer) the gem will mature or perhaps the human will only live for 15-25 years before them gem sucks them dry and they end up and as their gem completelyΒ

Connie= normal girl= human + humanΒ
their baby would only be one forth Gem and three forth human. I donΒ΄t think he/she would have a gem but he would be freakin powerful and magic anyway

Late to this shindig, but⦠BUT, Steven is a half gem, so I believe the human part might've been the thing that takes control of the reproduction process, and frankly, I don't think any gem traits pass on, though that's me speculating. Heck, the new little Universe could have some abilities from their grandmother and pops.

I think his little swimmers will probably manage the job just fine without him giving up his physical form. He could probably try inserting a gem into the baby, but that would end badly...
And yeah, Steven would be a great dad, following in his dad's path, and Mom Mom's path. Connie would be worried but do great, I hope.
