Description Ok! as this is a straight outta the sketchbook bit, pardon the roughness. I've been rediscovering my comic roots recently and wanted to take cracks at some design work. Not of everyone, just the characters I really like, and all of them from the DC stable (I may have loved the Avengers flick and Capt. America, but no matter what, I'm DC through and through).

To start, I figured I'd go with the big three, the Trinity. Kicking off with the one character I've felt hasn't really stuck with a defined purpose or look for the longest, which is a shame. This of course, is Wonder Woman. Instead of trying to discern something from the massive cluster!@#$ of continuity...I decided to start from scratch and apply my own theory from the basics.

I wanted something to look like classic Greek armor (NOT Roman), yet still have that distinct Wonder Woman look; and give her a an air strength FROM being a woman. So, no pants, a mid-length skirt was the way to go for me. I felt she should look like statuesque beauty, tall and full figured, and something that should be seen. I also gave her a cape, I personally thought it would tie the big three together. However...I don't know what color to make it; ideas? I don't want red as it would bleed into Supes, nothing yellow either (that's Robin territory for me personally). Willing to take ideas here. Any help really!

Also, I wanted to show her as sort of a Champion/Avatar for Athena, something that comics rarely touch on anymore. This is why I want my version to bear a shield on her back. Thinkin' maybe with an eagle...or perhaps and eagle AND a medusa face to match up to the Goddess. What do you think?

It's all very rough and its by no means final, that's why I put it up - gimme opinions, what comes from this will affect the actual piece I do of Wonder Woman.

I hope it's worth lookin' at...tell me whatcha think!

If Wonder Woman looked like this comic books would be a lot better off.

I really like this concept, just because it ties in some Greek appeal, something that seems to influence her place of origin and character. I really wish her creators took that into consideration (though, glad they didn't go as far as the single boob slicing for improved archery skills ).

I also wish they didn't make her color scheme too "Americana" in the red, white and blue thing Buuuuut, I suppose I can get over it.

I would love to see DC do something like this for her

All Wonder Woman designs should look like this. Though I would have made her more tanned, after all she did spend most of her life on a tropical island paradise.

Finally Wonder Woman looks like an Amazon.

I like this design of Wonder Woman. The armor helps depict her as a strong female character that is strong and feminine. I really like the skirt! The starred pleats are cool! I like the boots, too, and I actually kind of like the cape in white. I guess, I agree with other people about making a border or adding embroidery if you want a splash of color.

Well, I know next to nothing about Wonder Woman's origin, besides the fact that they call her an amazon (which I'd think makes her from south america, but I think that's wrong, isn't it?). I like the gladiator look, maybe making the boots more like shin protectors would have looked better. I think the cape looks okay white IMO, but if you must color it maybe giving it a gradient of red white and/or blue will look nice.

The truth is, the term of Amazonian women started in Africa, not South America. The name is not associated with a location There are African, Greek, and South American Amazonian women

Ah, I thought it was because of the Amazonian river or something. Thanks for the clarification. ^^

My pleasure I learned a good sum of this from dressing up as an Amazon a while back

Besides the open toes I love this design. I especially like the skirt and how it looks more like armor then spandex.

Hmmm, blue with silver trim or embroidery for the cape? Blue is sort of a "lesser" color on her, but I think making the entire cape blue would be a bit too MUCH blue, which is why I'm thinking some sort of silver detailing to pull it back together with her vambraces.

Also, I love when Wonder Woman actually looks Greek. And that's saying a lot because I don't actually like Wonder Woman.
