Uploading this in a WIP stage since I refuse to schedule slip any further than I already have darnit! I will update the finished page as soon as I can, but just in case I don't manage that before the change of the week at midnight, I'll at least have this as a placeholder.
EDIT: Hey, I got it finished in time after all! Two hours and ten minutes before next week!
Summer has made me all lazy and stuff and I guess the heat surprised me. Not that I wouldn't like the warm weather, I do enjoy it, but I wasn't prepared for sweating. Never thought that could affectmy drawing! Aftershading the first panel in here, I noticed the panels right to it had the paper so wet that the pencil's graphitedidn't stick properly and I risqued tattooing dirty fingerprints in places I don't want them (Already managet to make a tiny mark on the last panel by swiping an accidental pencil line with wet fingers. Glad it was placed so that I could hide it with a bit of correction fluid).
Also tested the default darkness of my new scanner (I call it "Karma"). It's not dark enough for not adjusting it before scanning, but it is better than my old scanner. Karma is a good scanner, oh yes it is.
Ahem, anyway. Story goes on.
(Ha! Finally got an excuse to make Bakbak swear!)

Of course I am. I've never said I would stop making the comic, and this project is something that I would announce very loudly if I ever cancelled it. It's just a couple of weeks hiatus because I've been travelling (and technically still am, I'm at my family's place without my own computer or scanner), nothing critical.

I want to guess the metal is silver, although I can't be sure with the color. They may value gold more, but copper is much harder, and according to the copper sheet for this, they also use it for tools, of which gold is not a wise choice. Silver is harder. I realize I'm probably looking too deep into this. Just have to wait on the story like everyone else

The metal is probably Iron, though I think it would be neat to see a lesser used one like tin- if you combine it with copper, you get brass.

I know the quirks of my scanner. I know it scans everything too light and pale, so I scan through Windows Paint where I can set the scanner to scan darker already before it's scanned in the first place. It does make everything gray, but I can always adjust it later with Photoshop, using levels. Scanners are never perfect, I believe, but once you know them, you can counterattack them.

I don't think they use any. The Hounds live more like 'real' dogs ie; more primative; whilst the Dogs live in a more civilised way with houses and farms, some of them were even seen making pots and such.

Summer can be brutal on our energy levels. I don't usually sweat on my drawing pages, but I have spilled all sorts of drinks on them, mostly tea, which stains really well.
And the Hounds do not have any metal-technology? Oh boy, Bak's going to have some ground to cover with explanations. At least he's wearing some copper in his ears.

Yup, dog smiths generally shave their front legs and sometimes chest and/or face too to keep the fur from burning. (*Random information bit attack*)

I can imagine them having higher chances to get sunburned than those whohave all their fur. The discrimination is more complex matter. Generally there are two sorts of dogs who shave themselves: Copper smiths, who are highly appreciated, and weirdos who aren't as appreciated.
