Dumb title, but I think it fits.

Before I delve into the backstory because there -is- one this time, let's be technical. I had uploaded the lineart a while ago and widened Kanji like a -tad-... but maybe he still looks starved. Naoto is a small character and that is what is so cute. x3

I haaaated shading Kanji's hair. Much like I hate shading Rage's hair. I am a bad artist and can really only shade hair that falls down like Naoto. Although it's fluffy (and I didn't do its fluffiness justice), it's not spiked back like Kanji.

I also hate shading black because I can't effing see what I'm doing.

The background is supposed to be the table at Samegawa river and therefore it should be darker cause they're in the shade but fehhh. One of these days I'll be good at scenery... or maybe I never will. That's why I'm in college in a non-art related field after all.

I did redo this more of a cel-shaded style. Lemme know which is better and I might have the guts to put it on Pixiv: [link]

PERSONA 4 SPOILERZ AHOY.

I was looking up Kanji/Naoto art cause while I was shipping everybody left and right, the two stood out as soon as Naoto got kidnapped and Kanji was freakin' out. I had already spoiled that she was a chick due to my sister's playthrough and, well, they just got cuter and cuter from there.

Anyway, in the process of this search I realized EVERYTHING I WANTED TO DRAW HAS BEEN DRAWN. And several things I wanted to write had been written. Hugs, Kanji angsting over Naoto for whatever reason, Kanji giving Naoto his jacket... not so much that it had already been done, but it had already been done well. This is why I don't draw popular game art.

But I don't think this has been done yet. I was thinking along the lines of Kanji's repeated pleas to pet Teddie, but he never got the chance to cause Teddie's an awesome jerk. And, well, Naoto's just cute. Kanji likes cute. :3
