It was new year’s eve.

Many of your friends were enjoying their day with other friends and family. It seemed everyone you knew was off to some far off town enjoying themselves. They all have someone to enjoy the celebration of saying goodbye to the old year, and hello to the new.

You, on the other hand, were all alone.

For some reason you had felt gloomy for the past month. All of your emotions and burdens were pushing down on you, making you feel mentally fatigued. Whatever you tried to do, didn’t feel exciting or fun. You always found yourself mindlessly browsing the internet, sleeping at late hours, and eating a few small meals.

Since you have been feeling this way, you isolated yourself for everyone; you rarely talked to your family and friends. You had thought this isolation would have made you felt better, but that was not the case. You were lonelier and depressed as ever.

You had no one.

You glanced at your clock. The bright red numbers blinked 12:00 A.M.

It was the New Year.

It was January 1, 2015.

Somewhere, there were people jumping in joy, hugging their loved ones, and wishing one another a prosperous and joyful year. Somewhere someone was getting their New Years kiss. Everyone had someone…

Except you…

You felt the tears forcing themselves out. You were tired of feeling lonely all of the damn time. You regretted not getting up and going out with friends or family. Why did you have to make yourself feel so terrible all of the damn time?

Your cellphone rung once, a small light emitting from it.

You wiped your face of the tears, and pick up your phone. You swiped the screen, unlocking it. Your heart skipped a beat reading the sender.

It was your one and only crush, Eren Jaeger.

‘happy new years! i hope you have a good one coming! let’s make more memories together’

He had also attached a picture with the text. He was making a ridiculous face, and you couldn’t help but laugh.

You sighed happily and buried your face into your pillow. You still had a message to reply to, but you would reply after you stop grinning stupidly.

Who knows how that boy always cheers you up during your worst times…
