Tanaka Ryunosuke is a man on a mission. He was currently squatting beside a door, his head peeking into the classroom of 1-3. He just had to figure out an important secret he no longer knew the answer to. This was an important issue that had to be solved during his high school career.

His sharp eyes were set in a glare, brows furrowed. The two people he is shadowing after are still too far for him to hear. He needs to know their secrets.

"Oi, Ryu!" A boisterous voice yells behind him. "What are you doing?"

The second-year tried to ignore the voice, but many heads turned to him. That voice was too loud for them to ignore.

Shit! His cover had been blown!

A short, orange-haired first-year stood beside him. "Are you trying to look at Kag-"

The shorter male didn't get a chance to finish his sentence. Tanaka placed a hand on the shorter one's mouth, and dragged him away from the door, into another hall. A short brunette followed after the two, wondering what was going on.

Tanaka was in another hall, he looked left and right, making sure no one else had trailed behind him. He removed his hand away from his underclassmen's mouth and sighed.

"Hinata, Noya, you two blew my cover," he grumbled.

Nishinoya laughed. “Sorry 'bout that Ryu! Didn't know you were spying!"

Hinata tilted his head in confusion. "Spying? Who were you spying on?"

Tanaka placed a hand on Hinata’s shoulder. "Listen closely, because what I'm about to tell will matter in your high school career."

Hinata’s eyes lit up, and he nodded excitedly. His upperclassmen was about to give him advice, so he had to listen closely. Was it about volleyball? Was Hinata learn some awesome, new technique to use on the enemy?

Tanaka cleared his throat, dramatically looking away in thought. "It's my second year in high school, and next year will be my last. I need to find out all his secrets so I don't end up as the old, lonely man everyone will make fun of."

Nishinoya snickered, knowing where this conversation was headed. Hinata, oblivious, continued to listen intently.

“Ooohh!” Hinata was starting to get impatient, jumping up and down excitedly. “Tell me, tell me! I wanna know what secrets you wanna know!”

Tanaka places his hand on Hinata’s shoulder, his place completely serious. “I want to know how Kageyama got a girlfriend and not me.”

Hinata stopped jumping, staring at his bald upperclassmen in confusion. “A girlfriend…?”

Tanaka chuckles to himself. “It’s okay Hinata. You’re still young so you don’t understand the importance of having a beautiful girl by your side.” He turns to his shorter friend beside him. “Noya! You understand, right?”

Nishinoya crosses his arms, a serious expression on his face. “I understand completely Ryuu. Let me explain it to you Shouyou, since this is something you will go through next year. As your senpai, we will help you!”

Tanaka smiles at the brunet. “Noya, I knew I could always count on you!”

Nishinoya smirks at the taller male, then faces the short orange-haired one. “Alright Shouyou, you love volleyball, right?”

Hinata nods excitedly. “Of course I do!”

“Now, wouldn’t it be great to have someone -- a girl especially -- always wishing you good luck, and giving you good luck charms and stuff. Then, while you’re playing a game you can always hear her voice in the distance, cheering for you! Oh, and then she gives you a hug and kiss when you win a game. Doesn’t that sound great?!”

Hinata stood still, hand under his chin, thinking about a situation like that. Then he remembers the relationship Kageyama and you have. You were always attending his games, and cheering for the setter and his team. Before a game, the short middle blocker would always see you talking to the black-haired male, giving him something and uttering words of encouragement. Then Hinata understood what his upperclassmen were talking about.

“You guys are talking about [First] and Kageyama, right?” Hinata asked them. “You guys wanna be like Kageyama?”

A scowl appeared on Tanaka’s face. “Don’t even say that bastard's name! How could a first-year get a girlfriend before me?!”

Tanaka fell to his knees, tears pouring from his face. “Noya, how are we gonna go on with our lives without a girlfriend?”

Nishinoya did the same as Tanaka, tears also flooding from his face. “Don’t worry Ryuu! We will find out Kageyama’s secrets and get a girlfriend!”

While his two upperclassmen were busy sobbing loudly and hugging each other, Hinata saw Kageyama and you walking by.

“Kageyama! [First]! Hi!” Hinata shouted to catch their attention, waving excitedly.

At the mention of Kageyama’s name, Tanaka and Nishinoya’s heads perked up, and they ran over to the first-year. Again, they fell to their knees, but this time, they bowed before the setter, tears still falling from their faces.

“You have our respect Kageyama!” Nishinoya yelled.

Tanaka spoke after him, hugging Kageyama’s leg. “We lost to you!”

Nishinoya clasped onto Kageyama’s other leg, and cried into it.

“PLEASE TEACH US YOUR WAYS!” They both cried out.

“O-oi! Let go!!” Kageyama tried to pry the two from his legs. “People are watching you idiots! What are you even talking about?!”

“Are you guys okay?” You ask, handing the two tissues.

Their actions stop and they glance at you, with red, puffy eyes. Their arms let go of Kageyama and slowly reach for the tissue.

“SHE’S A GODDESS!” They both scream, sobbing loudly into the tissue you had given them.

“Did I do something wrong?” You were looking between the two sobbing boys, trying to calm them down.

The two were causing a scene in the hallway. You were trying to calm down the crying boys, which made them cry even more. Kageyama was asking Hinata what the matter was, but eventually the two ended up bickering. It didn’t take long before the dean on the school stopped the commotion and had you all go to his office.

Afternoon practice was hell for the boys. Daichi heard about what happened, so, out of anger and embarrassment, he made the four train rigorously that day. You tried to convince Daichi to not be strict on them, but he wasn’t going to listen.

After that day, Tanaka and Nishinoya would tear up whenever they saw Kageyama, but you and Kageyama still did not know the reason for their actions.
