Gorgeous cat and gorgeous picture of said cat. This is a beautiful example of the almost extinct Florida Panther, also known as the red or scarlet cougar/puma. They are called thus for their more ruddy or rusty red coloring unlike the usual mountain lions with their lighter tan coats.

I <3 Cougars and this is a beautiful shot of one. The one at our zoo likes to sit on top of the rocks where no one can see him. Silly Rocky. I wish he'd come down. He could possibly be our new Shasta one day. Go Coogs!
