SkekLyr only feels any real affection for his pet Podling Pip. Woe betide anyone who messes with Pip! Which in this case was the treasurer, who is now very confused as to why The Chronicler is so offended by him simply pushing a slave out of his way.
Pip is the same Podling SkekLyr nabbed here:

Pip is also a very lucky Podling, being stolen from his home only a couple years before the great conjunction, being freed from the Skeksis along with the other Podling it the castle, and being made the pet, (or friend?) of the only Skeksis willing to bribe and blackmail all the other Skeksis into letting him keep Pip, and Pip’s essence right where it was supposed to be, in Pip. (SkekLyr might have had other “pets” like this in the past, but all records of that have mysteriously disappeared.)

And that’s a wrap! The last SkekTember challenge has been fulfilled! It was very fun sharing Dark Crystal stuff with all of you. So fun that I will be hosting a Mystic challenge for next month, I hope that someone will join me!
