Malamar probably has the most unorthodox evolution method EVER. Not helped by the fact that I can't figure out if you're supposed to flip the 3DS upside-down AS it reaches level 30, or wait until the battle where it leveled up has ended before flipping it over...

How can I hate it? Well it was a major impediment for me under that cafe for one. Nice artwork :3!
