I know it sounds nerdy but having done geology it really gave me a new perspective on crystals, chemestry and all these little patterns wthin rocks and ice that ... I dunno ... there's so much going on th create everything mundane, it's actually quite amasing! ... maybe it's just me (or the beer?!!!!)

thanks- yes this was a tricky one, as light conditions were rather low and had to use an fstop that gave less depth of field than I would have liked

I've tried the same thing with a frosted sweet pepper but it wasn't as nice as this capture.

..well thank you ..maybe you're just being too critical of your work. This was tricky though as the light was low at this time and the depth of field was rather shallow..but glad you like it

Photoshop should allow you to crop one side in one direction only. Failing that you could try cloning it out, failing that it doesn't really matter ...

it was quite early in the autumn so there was still quite a lot of sun about giving this a translucent look
