While I was scouring source images for vectoring Lyra's cutie mark , I chanced upon a scene where Bon Bon looks worriedly at Lyra (see reference image). While it had a perfect face-on view of the desired cutie mark, I discerned that a few frames had transformed it out of perpendicularity and I went to other potential references. Nevertheless, I kept this image for quite a while, hoping to vector this synergistic pair together – which I finally did after completing the Long Bar project .

Here was where I got back to speed with pony vectors and all their nuances: anti-aliasing, floating-point errors, powerstrokes, colour sampling, the like. Many of the elements were placed while my parents were at cinema watching Train to Busan, which may have encouraged an accelerated pace on my part.
