Yeah, many has argued about the official artwork of her. But in today's anime, gotta expect that it might be a boy. Japan knows how to weird things out lol

I was thinking more along the lines of them easing us to our potential future replacement for Ash. This series seems to be the last series featuring Ash as the lead character.

That's also another argument from the forums, her/him being a replacement.
Im not even sure if this info is true, the Japanese VA Rica Matsumoto is tired of voicing Ash. Maybe this will be the replacement.
